Turn Blinds Into Decorative Artwork Within Minutes

Blinds are often needed to diminish the amount of sunlight that comes into a room and to create privacy when needed, but they are not always the most attractive element in a home. If you have to use blinds on your windows, consider making them look a bit more stylish by turning them into works of art, rather than just being bland blinds. The guide below walks you through the process of transforming your blinds into artwork quickly and easily.

Choose the Poster You Want to Display

The first thing you need to do is you need to decide the poster you want to display in your home. Purchase a poster that has the unique look you are trying to create. Using posters allows you to create any look you want without having to spend a fortune on the design.

Choose the Blinds to Use in the Windows

Blinds are available in many different styles and colors. When you add the poster to the blinds, a portion of the blind will look like a frame around the poster when you are done. Consider using a colored blind on your windows so that you can create a bold look when you are done. Use blinds that are made from thick plastic, rather than aluminum to ensure that they can hold up to the poster being glued to them.

Measure and Cut the Poster

Next, you need to measure the width of the slats of the blinds. Each slat will be roughly the same width. Lay the poster out on a table with the image side of the poster facing down. Use a ruler or tape measure to mark the poster from top to bottom at the width of the slats. Cut the poster on the marks that you made.

Adhere the Poster

Next, you will adhere the poster to the slats using brush on adhesive. Be sure that the adhesive dries clear so that you cannot see it when you are done. Leave the top three slats bare and paint the adhesive onto the fourth slat from the top. Carefully lay the top piece of the poster onto the slat and then push it onto the slat to spread the adhesive out evenly. Repeat the process with the other slats until all of the poster is attached to it.

When you need to close the blinds, the poster will be visible and look like a poster that is framed and hanging on the wall. It is an inexpensive way to give your home more character within minutes.
